Concentration

Lately I have been having a problem concentrating on things that I have to read. It seems that I can get through more than 2 paragraphs before my mind starts drifting to another topic. Have tried to slow down my reading speed (and hopefully improve my comprehension) but that hasnt really helped.

I guess some of the blame can be placed on my lack of patience these days, however, I also blame some horrible writing on the internet and crappy local journalism. As proof i present to you this article.

The topic is actually an extremely simple one, why are there both U shaped toilet seats as well as O shaped ones. Instead of a simple answer, the writer choses to launch into a 1000 word discourse on everything remotely related to a toilet. I note that author is of Indian origin (sorry ah joes). Nonetheless, there is no benefit to using a verbose writing style with obtuse words other than for the author to try to prove his greater command of the English language. What you end up with, to quote Ms K, my ex-English teacher, is verbal diarrhea (pun not intended).
