Wonder how much they spent figuring this out.

In other news, the Pope is Catholic and Bears crap in the forest.

Senna

Ok just back from dinner with some friends who are gearheads (you know who you are) and I was boasting about having this clip. Video of arguably the greatest driver of my generation (or ever).

Two things cool about this clip
1. You can see outside the car, his hands and his feet simultaneously. So you can see exactly how he takes each corner.

2. In the first part of the clip, check out his demeanour and charisma. Guess it dosent hurt when you are stepping into a car that you developed from scratch.

Shocking

A list of the 25 most Shocking Moments of Cinema.

Ive seen more than half of the movies but the ones that I remember were pretty spot on. Special mention goes to

1. The box scene in Se7en

2. The warden throwing the pebble through the poster in Shawshank redemption

3. Samuel L. Jackson being turned into an Hor d'erve in Deep Blue Sea. (Incidently, have you noticed that he dies in most of the movies that he acts in? In fact Im hard pressed to think of 2 movies where he survies till the end)

4. The scene where you figure out who has been reincarnated as whom in Dead Again

5. Sharon Stone ...err....Icing... the guy on the bed with an Ice Pick

Also, what is happening to modern cinema? I cant remember that last GOOD movie that I watced (probably a cartoon). Seems like its the golden age of TV again with series like Lost, Arrested Development and the Simpsons being better entertainment than anything on screen. And whats the deal with cartoons having more intelligent dialogue than pop movies?

I blame the current facination (obsession) on physical beauty and mild titilation which allows no hack "talents" to command top billing based purely on there pubescent boobage (How many movies have Hillary Duff and Lindsey Lohan made in the past 2 years!) They even made the Star Wars stars YOUNGER to cater to this audience

No im not going to be watching foreign films from now on. Just that I guess I wont be watching anything in the cinema. And dont even get me STARTED on cinema etiquite

Links

Just updated the links section on my right with the blogs of a couple of people that I went to kindergarden with. Yeah no kidding.

You know what else they have in common apart from identical pre-school outfits?, they both love Karaoke

For all the other videos of this legend.

Bittorrent

It has been said that up to 80% of the traffic on the internet is due to Bittorrent. Finally got it working a few days ago and have to say am very impressed at the speeds and the database.

The problem most people have with it is the configuration of the router (and firewall). Its a real pain to set up coz it involves a lot of jargon but this site is fantastic and provides step by step instructions with illustrations.

You basically need to set up a static IP and then forward the appropriate ports to allow your program to communicate. Get a dedicated bittorrent client (bitlord or ABC are recommended) and you will be off and flying!

Books

A list from Time magazine on what they figure to the be the 100 greatest Novels. I have only read about 5.

If there is anyone visiting this site who is looking for a purpose or a goal in life, an honourable one would be reading (and trying to understand) every one of the books on this list.

Movies

ok maybe you will do a little better with the movies. I seen about 15 or so

One of the best movies I have ever seen is an Indian movie called Ankur. Its a movie with many themes and brilliantly subtle acting. Unfortunately, the movie is as old as I am so I have no idea where to go and get a copy (which has subtitles). Any ideas?

Atom

Worth it for the Top Gear video, in the Showroom section. Glorified Go-Kart really issntit?

I like reading Jeremy Clarkson for his sarcastic wit and honest reporting (in case you didnt realise, most of the time cars get fantastic reviews coz the reviewers are fetted with overseas trips and banquets as test drive 'visits'). Only prob with JK is that he tends to get a bit weepy and gushy everytime a British car comes onscreen.

Interesting how its using a Civic Type-R engine tho. And franky, no windscreen = not real car

Tiles

Good for about 10mins of entertainment. Gotta replace all the tiles to get out of the room

Obvious

I have only read the title of this article and I couldnt believe what they are admitting, but it is on the timesonline website and I have to assume its legit. I know its illogical but then by definition, faith is essentially the acceptance of a belief as opposed to a scientific proof.

Genius

Sometimes inventions are so simple, it takes a genius to think of them. At USD40 they are pretty steep but anyone wishing to thank me for my hours of sifting through crap website, well, you know what to do.

I am going to start a petition to substitute this footwear for those squeaky shoes that parents put on their 2 year olds as they go tearing around shopping malls. First of all, parents, just watch your kids better instead of putting a mechanically operated homing device on their feet. Plus with these you can find your kid in the dark even!

Bansai

Heads up to Suresh, who told me about this link. Its amazing what will get you kicked off from a flight in the States.

Sigh. How do those guys with the FCUK shirts get on then?

Well I guess when you got a direct line with the big guy, then you can enforce all the rules you want.

In case your wondering about the title,
Bansai = little bush
